
David Mascotti received his BS from Hope College in Chemistry and his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in Biochemistry. He was an NIH post-doctoral researcher at Washington University in St. Louis. His research experience is quite broad, spanning understanding the fundamental mechanisms of gene expression and regulation to the role of iron on cellular functions to detailed explorations of how proteins function and the role of radical molecules in cells. He has published over 20 scientific papers in journals such as Biochemistry, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Annual Reviews of Nutrition and others.
He is a Full Professor of Chemistry at John Carroll University and has taught undergraduate and graduate students in General Chemistry through Biochemistry as well as Entrepreneurship for 17 years. He has obtained over $500,000 in grant money from private and government agencies during his career.
